Why Lithium Polymer Batteries Are the Top Choice F Powering Your Electronic Devices
Why Lithium Polymer Batteries Are the Top Choice F Powering Your Electronic Devices

There are so many things that need batteries today, especially with all the electronics that are being sold. Who knew batteries would come in so many different shapes, sizes and types. You would think that buying a battery would be easy but now you need to be knowledgeable and know something about batteries byou purchase them. One of the e popular batteries today is the lithium polymer batteries. These batteries are thin and lightweight making them perfect  many of the electronic devices.

The lithium polymer battery was introduced in 1996. It quickly gained the approval of many due to its lightweight construction and the fact that it was rechargeable. These batteries are now being used in many electronic devices such as table video players, table computers and many rechargeable electronic devices.

The energy density is one of the itant components of a good battery and lithium has the highest energy density of any battery being sold. The life cycles are also longer and the degradation of the battery is much slower than many. These batteries do have some disadvantages such as exploding if they become overcharged, faster capacity loss and a longer recharge time.

The two main lithium batteries available  purchase are the lithium ion and the lithium polymer. The polymer battery is much safer than the ion battery because of the way in which the lithium is suspended. The polymer battery suspends the lithium in a polymer gel and the ion battery suspends the lithium in aganic solvent. Theganic solvent material is highly flammable unlike the polymer gel. The ion is also prone to burst into flames if there is a st if the battery is crushed. The polymer is less likely to burst into flames in either case.

An ion battery contains metal casing to house the suspended lithium whereas the polymer battery does not need them because the lithium is housed in the gel in which it is suspended. This in turn makes the polymer a e lightweight and flexible battery due to the elimination of the cylindrical metal casings. With the polymer being lightweight and flexible this appeals to the electronics developers and designers.

The lithium polymer batteries are also referred to as LiPo LiPoly batteries. Lithium batteries are quickly replacing the old NiCad (Nickel Cadmium) and NiMH (Nickel Metal, Hydride) batteries. Lithium is the lightest of all metals and has the highest energy per unit weight. It is no surprise then that lithium is quickly replacing nickel as the metal of choice f batteries.

Prices can be good indications of product wth and since the LiPo batteries are much me expensive than the nickel batteries and lithium ion batteries, you automatically have an idea that it is going to be a good product. It is definitely one that falls under the old saying, "you get what you pay ".

Based on the information and known facts, it is evident that a lithium polymer battery is currently a top of the line battery. These batteries are great f electronics because of their lightweight flexible design. They are me expensive but well wth the money you pay f them. Lithium polymer batteries are the way to go f a reliable high energy battery. http://www.minamoto.com/polymer.html
